The family owns and lives in a beautiful 600m² (6500 sq. ft/ 10 rooms.) ground-floor apartment with a large pool and owns two other apartments within the building which are used as His and Hers Offices. There are two other parties that occupy the building. The interior is very modern, high-end, and beautiful with a sound system throughout.  The cleaning is currently provided by a local company that services the apartments once a week. The current assistant is leaving at the beginning of Jan 2024 after 13 years to work on yachts for the extended family of the Owners. A handover is anticipated. The role reports directly to the Principals. The family is easygoing/ informal. There is one 10-year-old Labrador.

Requested duties and tasks 

  • Managing the smooth running of the property to high standards
  • Overseeing contractors, suppliers, and contract cleaners (including training)

The butler should have experience and knowledge of commercial and private settings.  Taking care of the guests and the family is the focus. There are other (7) staff members, but the family will manage them. On average, you will spend 80% of your time with the guests, and 20% will focus on family needs. The family consists of 5 people: the couple with a child  (13 years) and the grandparents who live on the estate. The season of guests is always between April and November. The Château houses eight high-end guests on average per day. Therefore guest greeting, etiquette service, and occasional driving are all essential skills. Accommodation and the use of a car will be included.

Variable tasks and responsibilities of the butler are:

  • Guest greeted at the door of their car upon arrival.
