When striving for a career in the most prestigious establishments in the world, becoming a butler in one of the world's leading and most exclusive hotels and resorts is an honour. Build your foundation with a comprehensive understanding of luxury services tailored specifically for a butler career in five-star Hotels & Resorts.

We designed this intensive four-week training program for those who aspire to master the art of Hotel and Resort butling at the highest level, serving the global elite. Whether you are already working in the world of luxury hospitality in a F&B or Rooms Division Team, or aspire a future role in this field,  this training program is for you. Our trainers focus not only on practical skills but also on cultivating the butler's mindset. You will gain insight into the role of a butler, including the traditional philosophy that underpins this prestigious position, as well as the modern techniques employed today. The core of this training is based on the power of our four P’s: Passion, Professionalism, Pro-active and Personalized service. This will give you an instant advantage as you start your career.

The training is at The International Butler Academy, where hands-on learning is prioritized. Several events are organized to test your skills, and you will work with actual clients under the guidance of our expert trainers. Besides that, personal development is a key aspect of becoming a respected butler, and therefore, a recurring theme throughout our training.

Frequently Asked Questions

This intensive four-week program is designed for individuals who want to build or advance a career in the international luxury hotel and resort industry. It is suitable both for hospitality professionals already working in areas such as Food & Beverage or Rooms Division and for motivated individuals who aspire to enter the world of five-star hospitality. Above all, we look for people with a genuine passion for service, a professional attitude, and the ambition to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Previous hospitality experience can be an advantage, but it is not the only factor that determines your suitability for the program. The training develops both practical skills and the professional mindset required to work in luxury hospitality. Motivation, personality, willingness to learn, and a genuine service-oriented attitude are extremely important. Our aim is to help each student develop the confidence, knowledge, and professional standards expected in a five-star environment.

The curriculum combines the traditions of professional butler service with the operational realities of today's luxury hotels and resorts. Subjects include Hotel & Resort Organisation and Management, the Guest and Butler Journey, Food & Beverage Excellence, personalised in-room service, personal valet skills, cultural awareness, international etiquette and protocol, professional communication, handling challenging situations, luxury concierge services, flower arranging, and career preparation.

Throughout the program, our four service philosophies are central to everything you learn: Passion, Professionalism, Proactive Service, and Personalised Service.

The program is highly practical, with approximately 60% practical training and 40% theory. Students do much more than sit in a classroom. You will practise techniques, participate in specially organised events and experience days, work in realistic luxury hospitality settings, and have opportunities to serve actual clients under the supervision of experienced trainers. The objective is to prepare you to confidently apply what you have learned in a professional five-star environment.

The program takes place at The International Butler Academy in Simpelveld, the Netherlands. Students train in our exceptional Academy environment and have access to facilities specifically designed to develop luxury service skills, including a fully prepared five-star hotel training suite.

Accommodation is included as part of the program, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in the TIBA experience throughout their four weeks with us.

The tuition fee for the four-week program is €6,500 and is all-inclusive. It includes professional training, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, field trips and experience days, and professional attire.

Students in the Hotel & Resort program also receive a professional two-piece marine-blue suit. The program includes specialist practical experiences such as a Food & Beverage Masterclass, cocktail making, barista training, and in-room private dining training with a professional chef.

This all-inclusive structure allows you to concentrate on your training and professional development during your stay at the Academy.

We deliberately keep each training group small, with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 students. Luxury service is about detail and personalisation, and we believe the same principle should apply to education. Smaller groups allow our trainers to provide individual guidance, observe your development closely, and give you personalised feedback throughout the program.

Yes. The program is specifically designed for the international luxury hospitality industry. In addition to technical training, you will develop cultural awareness, international etiquette, communication skills, commercial awareness, and an understanding of the expectations of discerning guests from around the world.

The skills acquired can support careers such as Hotel Butler, Personal Concierge, Lifestyle Concierge, Private Villa Host, Lifestyle Manager, Guest Experience Host, and Personal Assistant, among other luxury-service positions.

Your relationship with TIBA does not simply end on graduation day. Through our recruitment activities and international Hotel & Resort partnerships, we can assist graduates in exploring suitable employment and internship opportunities worldwide.

The program also includes career preparation and “Dream Job Application Skills,” helping you present yourself professionally to prospective employers. While individual opportunities depend on factors such as performance, experience, availability, visa requirements, and employer needs, our objective is to help talented graduates take the next step into the international luxury hospitality industry.

At The International Butler Academy, we believe that exceptional luxury service cannot be learned from theory alone. Our program combines traditional butler philosophy with the modern techniques, operational knowledge, cultural intelligence, and personalised service skills required by today's leading hotels and resorts.

You will train in a highly immersive environment, learn from experienced hospitality professionals, practise your skills in realistic situations, and develop not only what you do, but how you think, behave, communicate, anticipate, and serve.

Our goal is not simply to teach you hospitality skills. It is to help you develop the mindset and professional confidence to create memorable guest experiences and become an exceptional luxury hospitality professional.
