Dear prospective student,
Becoming a butler was not the result of a spontaneous impulse, but the outcome of a long inner development. I had already worked in various roles in the hospitality, where presence, language, and impact played a central role. Time and again, I was told that I had a natural ability for refined, cultivated interaction. And yet, I felt there was something more, something deeper than just a profession.
What fascinated me about the world of butlers was not the cliché or nostalgia, but a timeless vocation. One that combines integrity, culture, discretion, and excellence. I never saw the butler as a caricature, but as a true host – a person of style, strength of character, and emotional intelligence. When I discovered the International Butler Academy, I knew immediately: this was the right place.
I visited Huize Damiaan in person and was deeply impressed by the atmosphere, the lived etiquette, and the clarity of values. At TIBA, I would not simply learn techniques but grow as a person. And that is exactly what happened.
Our class was relatively small, yet we took over the house’s entire operations at a consistent level: service, housekeeping, hospitality, and events. Nothing remained theoretical. Every task was a responsibility. Every glance was noticed. Every action counted. Each day became a masterclass in reliability, self-leadership, and inner composure.
The team of trainers set high standards for us. Their goal was never to create perfect copies but to shape distinctive butler personalities, professionally competent, warm-hearted, and discreetly present.
One small moment has stayed with me: A trainer pointed out that even the logo on a piece of porcelain should face the guest. A subtle gesture and yet a silent message: True elegance reveals itself not in the Obvious, but in the Unexpected.
For me, TIBA was not simply a training program. It was a foundation. I not only learned how to shine, but also why and for what purpose.
Sincerely, Patrick-Noah Stutz
