Field trips are important for many reasons; they increase student knowledge and understanding of a subject, they add realism to the topic of study and they provide an opportunity to develop and enhance a student's socialization and citizenship skills. Butler Academy students go on a number of field trip excursions to give them a first-hand look at the life they will lead, and to receive valuable, on-site training.

Field trips offer students the opportunity to learn first-hand

Field trips enable the instructors to expand learning beyond the walls of the classroom into the vast community outside.  They provide the students with experiences which cannot be duplicated in a school environment but are nonetheless an integral part of school instruction.

During the middle of the eight-week course our students travel in about 5 days to Germany (wines), France (champagne), Luxembourg (china and crystal) and Belgium (hotel and private jets).  All costs are of course included in the tuition fee. Students also visit a number of private homes where the resident butler informs our students of the inner workings of a multi-million dollar home.

Some days there are 3 field trips in one day, starting early in the morning and arriving back late at night. Yes, days at TIBA are long. Some field trips take a full afternoon (Lavazza Coffee) or a full day (Stein Wine). Field trips are regular training classes and are certainly an important part of the overall curriculum.
