Since 1843, with unique single-mindedness and
sense of purpose, The Krug family has proudly
cultivated the markedly individual character of
their exceptional champagne. Theirs is a living
legend, a certain idea of excellence that has
been quietly redefined through six generations
without a break. Krug's founder, Johann-Joseph
Krug, was a maverick who turned his back on a
comfortable position in an established champagne
house to strike out his own.

The International Butler Academy & Krug
In combination with our visit to Veuve Clicquot,
we visit the Krug Estate. This is a rare
opportunity as Krug never allows guests to
visit. In fact, we are the only group allowed on
the estate. Krug Champagne is nurtured with
painstaking care and attention to detail. |
The photo below left is a the famous Krug travel
trunk, meant for true aficionados constantly on move. The
champagne trunk is just perfect for
carrying your bubbly with you! The
luxury trunk is corrosion-proof and
features a classic red calfskin
interior with three bottles of Krug
Grande Cuvee champagne and an
ice-bucket designed by Francois Bauchet. Besides storing coveted champagne, the trunk’s lid
also serves as a table to come in
handy on outdoor trips. The
well-crafted champagne crate is
available in limited edition of 30
pieces only with a price tag that’s
as ornate as it is for $54,000.
It's such a beautiful piece, we just had to
place it on this page.
